Martha L. Harley, 93, passed away on Tuesday, November 20, 2018.
Born September 21, 1925 to Bert and Stella (Carnahan) Foust in “the old brick” house at the corner of 600 N & 900 W in Madison County, Indiana. She attended school in Perkinsville, Indiana, and moved to Eaton after Christmas of 1935. Martha graduated from Eaton High School in 1943 and married Fred Harley on October 19, 1946.
She was a long-time member of the Eaton United Methodist Church, a 75 year member of Eastern Star, where she was Worthy Matron twice and she was an avid Pacer, Colts and Purdue fan.
Her surviving family include her son: Richard Harley (Margo), daughter, Sheila Mullins (Louis); grandchildren: Ken Patterson (Kathryn), Keith Patterson (Tara), Stephanie Smith (Greg) and Scott Mullins (Megan); great-grandchildren: Paige Patterson, Keelan Patterson, Maddie Patterson, Lauryn Patterson, Landon Patterson, Madalynne Smith, Alexander Smith, and James Mullins; brother-in-law, George Harley (Marilyn); sisters-in-law, Betty Russell and Eleanor Faust as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her husband Fred Harley on August 24, 1996, a grandson Richard Harley II; three brothers: Charles Faust, Charles Lawson and Bill Faust; and three sisters: Elizabeth Bowen, Dorothy Nicholson, and Betty Delk.
Funeral services for Martha will be held at 12:00 Noon on Monday, November 26, 2018 at the Eaton United Methodist Church, Elm & South Street, Eaton with Pastor Roger Walby officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon, Monday at the church.
