Ted and Kay Waters Ted earned his degree in mortuary science from Indiana College of Mortuary Science in 1966. He received his Indiana funeral director’s license the following year. After college, Ted married Kay Worden, his high school sweetheart. He enlisted in the Navy and served his country in both Guam and Saipan. After working in funeral homes in both Portand and Geneva, Indiana, Ted and Kay purchased Waters Funeral Home in October 1981. Ted has served as Blackford County coroner, deputy coroner, Hartford City volunteer fireman, Board of Health member, and a member of the Blackford County Community Foundation. Kay, a Wisconsin native, attended both Ball State University and Ohio Northern University. She is a member and past president of Psi Iota Xi, and an associate member of Research Club. She has served as an Elder, Clerk of Session, and Deacon at First Presbyterian Church. Ted and Kay have lived in the apartment above Waters Funeral Home for thirty years. They have five children and ten grandchildren. |

Tod L. Waters Tod, the oldest of the five Waters children, became interested in funeral service while helping his dad around the family funeral home. Tod graduated from Vincennes University in 1990 with a degree in Funeral Service Education. He earned his Indiana funeral director’s license in 1991. Tod served as Blackford County coroner from 1998–2006 and has been a Hartford City volunteer fireman since 1990. He lives in Hartford City with his wife Melanie and their three children: Blake, Lyndsey and Michael.
Brian graduated from Vincennes University in 2003 with a degree in Funeral Service Education and interned at Waters Funeral Home for one year before earning his Indiana funeral director’s license in 2005. Brian resides in Eaton with his wife Paige. |
